A Taste of Simply Raw, an event hosted by East Bay Community Leaders in Wellness and Health, fosters the reversal and prevention of type-II diabetes and other ailments.

East Bay organizations and leaders in consciousness and health present the event, A Taste of Simply Raw: Reversing Type II Diabetes in 30 Days. This event features a showing of the film A Taste of Simply Raw, as well as discussions led by experts from the field of medicine, offerings of live-food, body and breath practices, and opportunities to receive support and healthy lifestyle resources from members of the community.

A Taste of Simply Raw

The film A Taste of Simply Raw is an independent documentary film that chronicles six Americans living with type II diabetes as they transition to a diet consisting of plant-source, organic, raw foods. The film shows the miraculous effects of this transition, as the individuals experience freedom from insulin and medication and the restoration of normal blood sugar levels. This process is supervised by Gabriel , MD and Helen Ross, MD, founders of the Tree of Life Rejuvenation Center in Patagonia, Arizona.

Also from the world-famous Tree of Life Rejuvenation Center and a powerful force behind Oakland's upcoming event is Michael Bedar, filmmaker (A Taste of Simply Raw) and live food nutrition teacher. A leader in natural health and wellness, Bedar strives to unite members of the community with advocates of natural health through community-based events and film-showings. Through his work and commitments, he provides pathways of real options and realistic steps for individuals and their communities, teaching the power of natural foods to heal, thereby offering freedom from preventable diseases and sustainable health practices.

A Taste of Simply Raw Targets A National Health Epidemic

Though this event is occurring in Oakland, its anticipated impact expands beyond city borders. Its message is one that recognizes the current health crisis of America, addressing ailments such as type-II diabetes, obesity, metabolic syndrome, high blood pressure, and many other adverse conditions. With a natural and integrative approach, leaders of the raw food movement offer natural prevention, dietary planning and lifestyle-based guidance and support.
